At the Farm Newsletter

Sent Sept. 28, 2011

The soybeans plants are golden,
Corn stalks are turning brown,
My blackberries are ripe for picking,
And the scarecrows will soon be all over town!

Hello from Auburn West,

I'm continuing to recuperate from the heart valve repair surgery at Auburn West in Waconia. Come and visit me if you'd like to, I'm ready for visitors!

My elves At the Farm are working hard to be ready for Scarecrow Saturday on October 8. Sorry I had the wrong date in my newsletter last week. I didn't have a calendar in front of me!

We have more varieties of Minnesota apples now. The SweeTango (cross between the HoneyCrisp and Zestar) and the ever popular HoneyCrisp are available now. I'll keep you updated each week with the varieties I have. The fall produce is coming in, more varieties of winter squash are here now.

It's Apple Time!

I sell apples by the pound, not the bag. So you can buy just one apple or any amount you would like. It's a great way to buy apples.

The varieties available will change from week to week so I'll keep you updated. They are all Minnesota Grown and have just excellent quality and flavor. I will probably have seconds available later for pies, sauces, apple butter or eating.

Honeycrisp - Sweet-tart, crunchy.
Excellent for fresh eating.

SweeTango - Juicy, sweet, crunchy.
Excellent for fresh eating as well as cooking and baking.

Chestnut Crab - Sweet, firm.
Good for fresh eating or sauce.
