The fields are being planted with tomatoes, peppers, shallots, cucumbers, eggplant, popcorn, beets, herbs, etc.

June Bonus Recipe - Rhubarb Upside Down Cake 3 cups chopped rhubarb 1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar Mix. Have rhubarb mixture ready before you stir up the batter.Grease a 9 x 13 glass pan |

Sift together: 2 1/2 cups sifted cake flour or 2 1/3 cups sifted regular flour 1 2/3 cups sugar
4 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon saltAdd 1/2 cup shortening (Crisco) 1 1/4 cup milk 1 teaspoon lemon extract 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Pour in a little over half of the milk if using cake flour. Pour in all the milk if using regular flour. Beat 2 minutes. Add 5 egg yolks. Beat another 2 minutes.
Put batter in greased pan. Add rhubarb. Pour 2 cups of whipping cream over rhubarb. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
The rhubarb sinks to the bottom. Serve upside down so the rhubarb is on the top of your cake. Enjoy! When you care enough to Eat the very best, ask Donna! |
