The pea vines are blooming.
Soon the pods will appear
And heaven help me
I'd like to shoot the deer!

(It got some of my vines)

Gardening Tips

To Mulch

I will soon have meadow hay for your tomatoes and cucumbers (see photo at right). With the wet fields it may be hard for the farmer to cut and put up the hay. Call me 952-442-4816 to find out when I have it.

You can strip newspaper to mulch also. Take paper and tear into 1 inch strips. Soak the strips in a pail of water and put around your plants. This also will keep moisture in and weeds down.

Flower Tips

Dead head your flowers to keep them blooming. Feed with Jack fertilizer for the best flowers you ever had.

Many years ago I was learning to garden and my mother told me to pick the blooms off of the pansies. So I did and they never bloomed. I didn't know to pick the spent blossoms off not the ones blooming. I've learned alot in gardening and it's fun to share this with you.
