Gardening Tips

How is your garden doing? I think some things have just not ignited. The peppers seem to be slow to take off and look robust. I pick off the first peppers from the plants. That's hard to do but it works for me. I believe the energy should go to growing the plant not making those first peppers.

My flat leaf parsley went to seed instead of growing so that got cut off. Hope it grows now. The curly parsley is great.

I dug my first red potatoes on July 3. I dug around the plant to find a big one. Then I covered the hole back up so the little ones can grow.

The sweet onions have good size. I can start pulling them now.

The pea pods are great. The shell peas are lazy. They got bothered by the deer and I think that was the problem. The funny weather didn't help either, hot, then cold, then wind, then whatever.

The tomatoes look good. Alot of green ones on the plants. The tomatoes have been hayed in and the rings (cages) are on.

Dill is slow to grow, no height. It's starting to head.

The cucumbers also have been hayed in (see below). They are blooming.

There's a time to plant and a time to harvest. To me I think the time to grow got mixed up some. Things just seemed to be stunted. Next year will be better so keep gardening!
