It's four in the morning
Big Red is crowing
Its time to be waking up
Sunshine awaits you
Enjoy your day
Its only a memory tomorrow.

Hello,

I'm working on self-guided garden tours of my flower gardens this summer. I would love to share them with you. In July and August on Friday and Saturday 11 am to 2 pm.
You can come and walk through the flower gardens. Then sit a spell and just enjoy the splendor while you sip a glass of lemonade, ice tea or ice water.

July Dates: 16-17, 23-24, 30-31
August Dates: 6-7, 13-14, 20-21

My garden fields are all in splendor. It's such a fabulous sight to behold. I get so much pleasure from the view. There is just nothing greater than to watch a seed sprout and bring forth food. It's a miracle!

My Dakota Pearl and Viking potato plants started to bloom this week. See the photo (at right) of the potato blossoms and the beautiful cabbage row right next to the potatoes! I should be digging new potatoes by July 4! Can't you just almost taste them?  I can hardly wait to dig the first ones of the season!

Gardening Tips

Mulching - Just a note about using old moldy hay or straw. This is not a good idea! You can get mold spores in your lungs from this and maybe can't get well. You could wear a mask but its better to use fresh cut meadow hay from 2010. The harvest is not ready yet in our area so I do not have meadow hay yet. The hay will be here as soon as it quits raining and and it can be baled.
