If all day could be morning
What a fabulous day it would be
The earth smells of freshness
Undisturbed by you and me.

Hello,

Remember Joe Marzano, the chef who taught us to cook with herbs? He is moving to Washington DC. He is going to teach culinary arts at a college out there. Happiness to him. We were very blessed to get to know him and share his knowledge. I have the recipes from his presentation now. Email me for them at imthefarmer@earthlink.net

Gardening Hints

I have a great spray for potato bugs, tomato blight, cabbage worms (organic). It works! Do you have any garden containers left to plant? I have the very best soil you can use. And did you dump your old soil first? I also have a Jack fertilizer for your flowering pots. It's a lot better than Miracle Grow. It's not organic but for flowers that's okay. For vegetables in pots you can use fish emulsion, that's organic but I do not sell it. You need to be in search of excellence when gardening. The results are fun!

The peonies are blooming now, they are great to bring into the house. Enjoy them while you can.

Weeds coming? You may need a new hoe! I have the best, they have a small point to get around the plants and not so wide that it gives you a backache! (see the photo at right) Try one of these hoes and you will never go back to the flat blade hoes!

Years ago farmers had these made from a sickle blade. That's back when there were great blacksmiths that were true artists with metal. I miss those businesses. I used to go with my dad to watch the blacksmith shape the iron, smell the forge, see all the plow shares on the floor and just take in the whole experience!

Happy Gardening!
