Grilled Stuffed Onions 4 large onions (from At the Farm) 1 stick unsalted butter - softened 2/3 cup crumbled blue cheese - this can be crumbled from a large chunk or a container already crumbled 4
strips of fried bacon, crumble after frying (from Mackenthun's Meat Market in St. Bonifacius)
|
|
Cut the top and bottom of onion to flatten. Take the outer peel off. Scoop hole in top of onion. A melon
baller works great. Mix the softened butter, blue cheese and crumbled fried bacon bits. Put the mixture of butter, crumbled blue cheese and fried bacon bits in hole.
Wrap loosely in foil. Roast on the grill for 15-20 minutes until onion is medium firm. Can be re-heated the second day. The flavor is great! When you care enough to Cook the Very Best, Ask Donna! Enjoy! |
