Spring is coming
Look for the signs
Winter is fading
Keep me in mind.

Hello,

Do you miss me? I sure miss all you wonderful friends.

My peppers are being seeded now. They need to be started no later than the first week in February. Tomatoes should be started March 18-20th.

I'm reinventing for the new season! It's so exciting to re-set!

This year I'll have masterfully crafted wooden garden arbors, trellis, raised garden bed frames to enhance your garden.

My Pride and Glory Garden Project will be happening again. If you are unemployed, come to my farm in April for free vegetable seeds, onion sets, seed potatoes and in May for starter vegetable plants.

Remember! I have farm fresh brown eggs available every day all winter! Self serve from the ice box on my porch.

When you care enough to Eat the Very Best, ask Donna!

See you in the spring!
Donna

Gardening Tips

Starting seeds in your house - you need a good seed starter mix to plant in. That's what the product is called, seed starter. I do not have this for sale.

Tomatoes can be started from March 18 to April 1st or so. The shorter they are when you harden them off the better plant you will have.

Forget trying to start your pepper plants in the house, its too hard to do. If you start them late they will not mature.

To harden plants off - when the plant has two leaves, re-pot in good quality potting soil (not hyponex soil). The leaves I talk about are not the very first two that appear, its the next set you count. Use a 4 to 4 1/2 inch pot. It takes a while for them to grow.

When the weather gets warm enough during the day, set them outside, out of the wind. Put them back in the garage at night.

And remember, if all this fails I'll have plants for you! Its already too late to start some flower seeds inside (coleus, begonias, and petunias for example). And some flowers do best if you wait and seed them directly in your garden (zinneas, marigolds).

Good Luck!
