Spring! Spring! Spring!

Its okay to start your cold crops in your garden - potatoes, onions, lettuce, radishes, kohlrabi, carrots, peas, beets, spinach. Do not start these in the house and transplant them into the garden, just plant them right in the garden.

Pansies can be planted now. It will bring spring color to your front door. I have pansies for sale At the Farm.

Also its time to divide or move your perennials. And you can fertilize your perennials now with 10-10-10 or bone meal.

Bone meal is great for perennial flowers in the spring. Put a half cup around each plant and then scratch it in or just leave it on top of the ground. The rain will wash it in. Bone meal is for strong roots.

Rhubarb can be divided. Remember, do not pick from new transplants this season. You will ruin your root systems by picking it the first year after planting.

Have Fun Planting!
