July Gardening Tips!

Its time to be dead heading your flowers.

Petunias start to get leggy in July. You can cut them back by half.  Feed them with Jacks fertilizer.

Pinch out seed heads on coleus.

Peonies are done blooming so cut the dead flower stems.

Poppy heads look stately in the garden so I leave them.

Work up the soil a bit around your plants. They like to get fresh air around the roots. I have a great pointed hoe for sale. This is the very best tool for gardening.

Start to cage your tomatoes. Or tie them up, use a soft strip of cloth for tying.

Meadow hay is here for mulching! Mulching keeps the weeds down and the moisture in.
