August Gardening Tips!

Just a note about colored peppers. When you buy a red, purple, orange, yellow pepper plant the tags have a colored picture. But all peppers (except the ivory ones) start out green, then turn color. It takes about 20 more days to color up. When you pick, and the peppers are warm, put them in cold water to take the field heat out of them. They will keep alot better in the refrigerator. This season peppers are slow to set and turn. The weather is so cool.

Tomatoes are also slow to ripen this year. The temperature is cool overnight and this keeps them from turning red.
