Hello,

Oh What A Beautiful Morning,
Oh What A Beautiful Day,
I Have Lakeshore Property
And Everything's Wonderful ANYWAY!

I got 3 inches of rain on Wed. June 11 and alot of my fields were either underwater or rows of plants were washed out. But the plants in the fields on the high ground look excellent!

I'm picking green, red and bib leaf lettuce, shallots, green onions, rhubarb, parsley, chives and oregano. I have locally grown radishes from a farmer friend. And of course, local maple syrup and honey.

To supplement my offerings until my harvest is more plentiful I have onions, corn and peaches from Georgia, muskmelon and seedless watermelon from Illinois, Arizona red potatoes (great for salad), and garlic from Gilroy, California (the Garlic Capitol of the World!).

Oops, almost forgot about the georgeous fresh peonies picked right here At the Farm!

COOKING TIP:
TO COOK SWEET CORN - Bring water to boil, add corn, and when the water boils again, time for 4 minutes. ENJOY!

Enjoy the Summer Bounty!

Gardening Tips for June - Pinching Time!
If your plants are getting out of shape you can pinch now . . . whatever looks too leggy or if you want the plant to bush out and be more robust. Dead head geraniums, pansies, iris or any other flower heads that have gone to seed. This will force the plant's energy back to the plant rather than the spent blooms.

Feeding Time!
Feed your hanging baskets and container pots now also, and continue to feed (fertilize) about every two weeks.

We will be planting the cutting flower garden this week. I use alot of seeds. Plants tend to grow too fast and are over the hill when I need them for cutting. Its not too late to plant seeds, there is still plenty of time to get good flowers for your garden bouquets. Garden flower bouquets are just wonderful for your special occasion table AND for your every day spirits! HAPPINESS CAN BE REFLECTED IN EVERY FLOWER!
