Hello,

Rain and hail has been the topic for this week. I got two inches of hail on Thursday, June 5. No hail damage, almost an inch of rain. The fields are really coming slow, no heat to push the plants.

I have fresh rhubarb, bib lettuce, leaf lettuce, shallots, oregano and chives.

Come and see my wonderful flower garden containers and hanging accent baskets.

The herbs, peppers, tomatoes, egg plant containers are marvelous! And I also have flowering annuals to plant.

Home grown strawberries, Georgia peaches and Georgia sweet corn will be here soon.

Enjoy the Summer!
Donna

With the strawberry season upon us, I decided to feature this fabulous
Fresh Strawberry Pie Recipe!

1 cup sugar
3 tablespoons corn starch
1 cup water
1 quart strawberries (home grown)
Baked pie shell

Arranged washed berries (dried on a paper towel) in the baked pie shell. Mash the rest of berries, add sugar, cornstarch and water in a sauce pan. Bring to a boil until thick (should be glossy). Pour over berries and refrigerate until cold.

Serve with real whipped cream! For best whipped cream use a hand beater and have the bowl and the beater cold. I put mine in the freezer. Whip the cream and add sugar and vanilla.

ENJOY!
