TURN OUT THE LIGHTS, THE PARTY'S OVER
                                                                               (and I'm sad)

WHAT A PARTY!

Sunday, July 27, 2008 was the highlight of my year. Thanks to all of the wonderful people who attended the MINNESOTA SESQUICENTENNIAL EVENT Country Festival At the Farm. The polka band, corn roast, hot dogs, fresh corn and bean salad, cheese, pulled pork sandwiches, and lemonade were fabulous!

The friends who came with the corn sheller, corn grinder, rope maker and tractor were the hit of the party. And, of course, the quilters, barn photographer, folk artist, naturalist and historians just added to the ambiance! It was beyond my wildest dreams. What a wonderful celebration of Minnesota's rural heritage!

The weather was fine, it did rain a little around 11:30 but that was just a bump in the road. The rest of the day turned out just great! There was a steady stream of cars to be parked for the whole four hours. Didn't get an accurate count of people but I would guess about 600.

Thanks To The Elves who made it all work and make me look great. IT'S A COUNTRY FESTIVAL TO REMEMBER! It was so lovely to see all my old friends and new friends and everyone in between. They came to enjoy the farm, stroll the flower gardens and vegetable gardens, visit with each other, listen to grand old polka music, eat lots of good food and share and learn.

THANKS AGAIN FOR MAKING MY DAY...YOUR FARMER FRIEND
