Donna

Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled . . .

PICKLES!

Its time to get out the jars and canners and think about canning pickles!

Kosher salt
Cider vinegar
Hard water
Pickling cucumbers
Fresh dill heads
Onions
Garlic

Slice blossom end (or both ends) off cucumbers. Place one head of dill on the bottom of each jar. Add cucumbers, dill, onion, and garlic. Cover with hot brine and seal.

Have water boiling in the canner. DO NOT boil pickles in the canner. Put the canner on the floor in the garage, add jars.

Wait until the next morning to take the jars out. I wait 2-3 weeks before eating.

I will have pickling cucumbers soon! Mine are grown on meadow hay so they are clean and ORGANIC!

Happy canning!
